PRODUCT APPLICATION
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING PROJECT
SURFACE PREPARATION
Surface must be free of any dust, grease, oil, stains, rust, wax, or any other substances. To ensure proper adhesion, thoroughly scrub cabinet and trim surfaces with a degreaser and prime the surfaces prior to application of the cabinet and trim paint.
DEGREASING
Thoroughly scrub cabinet and trim surfaces with a degreaser like Krud Kutter® Original Cleaner/Degreaser to remove dirt and grease from existing finishes. Thorough preparation of the existing surface with a degreaser will produce optimal results and maximum adhesion.
PRIMING
Use Zinsser® Bulls Eye 1-2-3 ® Primer or B-I-N® PrimerSealer to improve adhesion and help hide stains or tannin bleed that may occur. Priming is especially important on bare wood cabinet surfaces or when painting over dark colors.
IMPORTANT: INTERIOR USE ONLY, NOT RECOMMENDED FOR EXTERIOR.
APPLICATION
Apply when air (ambient) temperature is 50-90°F (10-32°C) and relative humidity is below 80%.
Shake or stir well before use. May be applied with a synthetic (nylon, polyester, or blend) bristle brush, 3/8”-1/2” roller, pad applicator or airless sprayer. For an airless sprayer, follow the manufacturer's instructions when using spray equipment. Use a 0.017" tip at 2000 to 2600 psi. Wear a NIOSH-approved respirator and provide adequate ventilation.
First apply an even, light coat of cabinet and trim paint to cabinet frames, rails, and cabinet door backs. Allow to dry two hours. Then repeat with a second coat. Allow second coat to dry two hours. After door backs are dry, flip over and repeat the two-coat process on the door fronts, allowing two hours dry time between coats.
If applying over a contrasting color, additional coats may be required. Dry times may vary depending on temperature and humidity levels.
DRY AND RECOAT TIME
At normal temperatures, 70°F (21°C), Cabinet Transformations Basics dries to the touch in 30 minutes and to recoat in two hours. Wait at least 12 hours before reinstalling the cabinet doors and 24 hours before normal usage. Full adhesion and hardness develop in seven days.
COVERAGE
Up to 400 square feet per gallon, or 160 linear feet, with one coat depending on surface texture, porosity, and application.
CLEAN UP
Soap and water
*Product contains mildewcide to prevent the growth of mildew on the paint film only.
