When using our Cabinet Transformations, the use of a primer is not typically needed as the kit includes a deglosser to properly prepare your finished cabinet surface.
A primer is required, however, when applying over bare wood or knotty pine, and is strongly recommended when applying under the White, Linen or Frost tint colors For bare wood, we recommend priming with our Zinsser Cover Stain first. The deglosser step can then be skipped and you can proceed to Step 2 after priming:

For knotty pine, use Zinsser BIN Primer to spot prime knots first, then prime the entire surface with Zinsser CoverStain or Zinsser Bullseye 123:
The Deglosser step can be skipped if the surface is primed, and you can proceed to applying the Bond Coat after the primer has dried .
