PRODUCT APPLICATION

STAIN BLOCKER

One coat will effectively block most water stains, graffiti, nicotine and smoke stains. If a second coat is desired, allow to dry two hours before re-coating.

CEILING PAINT for CEILING TILES

Use to block water, nicotine, or smoke stains on ceiling tiles. Dries flat and matches the color of most ceiling tiles.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Surfaces should be clean, dry, sound and free of dust, dirt, excessive chalky material, grime, grease, oil, wax, mildew, wallpaper, adhesive or any contamination that may interfere with adhesion. If unsure of cleanliness, always wash surface with household ammonia and water solution. (Do not use TSP as a cleaner). Remove any peeling and/or unsound coatings. Sand any remaining paint film edges smooth with the surface. Remove interior mildew ting with a solution of one cup household bleach per gallon of water or a quality mildew cleaner. Countersink exposed nail heads, spot prime and fill all nail holes and gouges with Zinsser Ready Patch® spackling compound. Wire brush rusty areas.

APPLICATION

Apply at room temperature at 70-80ºF (21-27ºC) in a well ventilated area. Avoid high humidity. Shake can vigorously for one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. If mixing ball fails to rattle DO NOT STRIKE CAN. Contact Rust-Oleum. Shake often during use. Hold can in an upright position and press finger against the side of the nozzle to activate the spray. Spray 10-12” from the surface with short ‘dusting’ strokes, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the surface. Keep the can in motion while spraying. Do not use near open flame.

DRY AND RECOAT TIMES

Dry and recoat times are based on 70°F and 50% relative humidity. Lower temperature and higher humidity will prolong the dry time of the product. Dries to the touch in 30 minutes. Allow a minimum of 2 hours dry time before recoating or applying a topcoat.

CLEAN-UP

To clear spray for future use, turn can upside down and spray until clear gas is emitted. Properly discard empty container. Do not burn or place in home trash compactor.

CLOGGING

If the valve clogs, twist and pull off spray tip and rinse in a solvent such as mineral spirits. Do not insert any object into can valve opening.
