DESCRIPTION AND USES
Rust-Oleum Sandable Primer with Custom Spray 5-in-1 allows you to choose between 5 different spray patterns for ultimate control and confidence. This sandable primer sands to a smooth finish and provides a tough rust-inhibitive base for most brands of automotive lacquers and enamels. This advanced spray system allows you to spray at any angle, even upside down for those hard-to-reach areas.
PRODUCT APPLICATION
SURFACE PREPARATION
Clean the area to be painted with mineral spirits to remove all oil, grease, wax, and dirt. Dry thoroughly. Remove loose paint and rust with a wire brush or sandpaper. Clean the surface with a commercial detergent, or other suitable cleaning method. Rinse with fresh water and allow to thoroughly dry. Lightly sand glossy surfaces.
APPLICATION
Use outdoors or in a well-ventilated area such as an open garage. Apply when temperature is between 50- 90°F (10-32°C) and humidity is below 85% to ensure proper drying. Do not apply to surfaces that, when heated, exceed 200°F (93°C) or galvanized metal. Avoid spraying in very windy, dusty conditions. Cover surrounding area to protect from spray mist.
Before spraying, turn dial to the desired spray pattern and test on an inconspicuous area or on scrap material. Scan QR code to learn more. Shake can vigorously for one minute after mixing ball begins to rattle. If mixing ball fails to rattle, DO NOT STRIKE CAN. Contact Rust-Oleum. Shake often during use. Keep the can the same distance from the surface. Recommended distance from the surface will vary based on spray selection. Scan QR code on can for details. Keep the can in motion while spraying. Spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Spray at any angle. Apply 2 or more light coats a few minutes apart. Turn dial to LOCK position when finished spraying.

DRY & RECOAT TIMES
Dry & recoat times are based on 70°F and 50% relative humidity. Dries to touch in 10 minutes. Allow more time in cooler temperatures. When dry, surface can be immediately recoated, top coated or wet sanded. For best results allow to dry 2-4 hours before dry sanding.
CLEAN-UP
Wipe off tip when finished. Clean up wet paint with Xylol or mineral spirits. Throw away empty can in trash pickup. Do not burn or place in home trash compactor.
DIAL CARE AND CLOGGING
To prevent clogging, clean face of the dial with mineral spirits or acetone when finished spraying. DO NOT remove cap or dial.
