DESCRIPTION AND USES
Watco Rejuvenating Oil Spray is a special maintenance oil for the care and restoration of oil-finished woods. Periodic use of Watco Rejuvenating Oil restores beauty to oil-finished wood by removing surface grime and creating renewed luster and protection. Watco Rejuvenating Oil replenishes wood with necessary moisture.
Recommended Uses: Furniture, trim, paneling or any penetrating oil-finished wood surface (e.g., Danish or Tung Oil).
Not Recommended For: Floors, exterior surfaces or surfaces finished with film forming finishes (Polyurethane, Lacquer, Shellac, or painted surfaces).
PRODUCT APPLICATION
SURFACE PREPARATION
Watco Rejuvenating Oil will dissolve wax so there is no need to strip waxed wood before applying. If the current finish is worn, uneven in gloss, or has heavy wax/polish build-up, lightly scuff sand with 320-400 grit before applying. Remove sanding dust with a damp rag or vacuum if smooth finish is desired.
APPLICATION
Protect surrounding areas with a solvent resistant drop cloth covered in newspaper around the work area in case of drips, runs, and/or overspray. Protect eyes and skin, wear safety goggles and chemical resistant gloves.
Use adequate ventilation at all times. Apply only when the air and surface temperatures are above 50°F, and below 95°F. Test Watco Rejuvenating Oil in an inconspicuous area for appearance before completing project.
Shake can vigorously for one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. If mixing ball fails to rattle, DO NOT STRIKE CAN. Contact Rust-Oleum. Shake often during use. Hold the can 10”-16” from the surface and spray in a steady back and forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the surface. Keep the can in motion while spraying. Apply one coat ensuring you flood the surface with Watco Rejuvenating Oil.
NOTE: Sagging and spray finish imperfections are temporary and not final. Excess Rejuvenating Oil will be wiped away during the final step to ensure a smooth and even finish.
Wait 10 minutes then wipe clean and dry with a soft, clean lint-free cloth. To remove minor surfaces stains and scratches, apply Rejuvenating Oil and wipe with a fine steel wool or synthetic steel wool, and rub in the direction of the wood grain.
For a rich, soft satin luster, apply Watco Satin Wax for Finishing after oil has been allowed to dry for 72 hours.
MAINTENANCE
Periodically reapply fresh coats as needed to repair surface scratches and remove minor stains.
