DESCRIPTION AND USES
Rust-Oleum Transformations Decorative Glaze allows you to add a custom antique finish to any painted surface. This semi-transparent Decorative Glaze has a long open time, allowing you to customize your handcrafted final look. Great for cabinetry, furniture, accessories and more. Ideal for painted wood, laminate, melamine, or metal surfaces.
PRODUCT APPLICATION
SURFACE PREPARATION
The Decorative Glaze must be applied over a clean, fully cured, and painted surface. For best results, apply over a non-glossy finish. Test glaze in a small area first before applying on entire project.
To get a high-end look, a cheesecloth or lint-free rag should be used to remove portions of the Decorative Glaze. To complete your project, use the Transformations Protective Topcoat to seal in the Decorative Glaze finish.
APPLICATION
Apply when air (ambient) temperature is between 50˚F (10˚C) and 95˚F (35˚C) and the relative humidity is below 70%.
Stir thoroughly. Using a 2” synthetic brush or 2” foam brush, coat the painted surface with the Decorative Glaze. Be certain to get the Decorative Glaze in all corners, crevices, and raised panel sections. Using a cheesecloth, wipe the surface (using varying pressure) in the direction of the grain or brush marks to remove the Decorative Glaze to the desired look. If you are not satisfied with the appearance of the Decorative Glaze, wipe the surface down completely while the glaze is still wet with a clean, damp rag and repeat the glazing process.
Let dry a minimum of 8 hours and finish by applying the Transformations Protective Topcoat to seal in the Decorative Glaze finish.
NOTE: The Decorative Glaze will be very subtle over dark paint colors.
