DESCRIPTION AND USES
RockSolid Sealer & Coating Stripper is designed to remove film-forming sealers, stains, paints and coatings from concrete surfaces. The gel formula allows for longer dwell time to remove tough coatings with fewer applications.
It is suitable for use on painted, stained or sealed interior and exterior surfaces such as concrete, masonry, stone and brick.
PRODUCT FEATURES
- Removes Sealers, Stains, Paints & Coatings
- For use on concrete, masonry, stone and brick
- Water-Based Gel formula spreads evenly & stays on surface until ready for removal
- For interior and exterior use
PRODUCT APPLICATION
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTNG PROJECT.
IMPORTANT: Wear safety goggles with side shields, rubber gloves and protective footwear.
Prior to use, test a small area of the floor to ensure effectiveness on coating and desired results. Some coatings (such as 2-part epoxy products) will require a second application or will need to be sanded or ground.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Cover any plants or grass that could come in contact with the product or removed coating with plastic drop cloths. For vertical surfaces, scuff sand with medium grit sandpaper prior to the application to assist with clinging to the surface.
APPLICATION
Shake well before use. Pour RockSolid Sealer & Coating Stripper directly onto the floor at full strength in a thick layer. DO NOT DILUTE. If applying to a vertical surface, scuff sand the surface prior to the application to help the product cling to the surface.
Lightly move the stripper around on the floor with a stiff bristle brush to ensure even coverage. Do not scrub. Apply more product to areas that appear thin.
Stripper must remain on the surface and be allowed to penetrate all of the layers of paint or stain to be removed. Re-apply the product as necessary to keep the entire surface covered with a thick layer of Stripper.
Once the coating is visually wrinkled, it is ready to be removed. Test an area to see if it removes easily with a scraper. If it does not remove easily, apply additional product to the surface. It may take 30 minutes to 5 hours for the coating to detach from the surface depending on the type of coating being removed. Floors with multiple layers or more aggressive coatings will require the longest time.
Remove the coating using a scraper, pressure washer or stiff bristle broom brush. Rinse the surface three times to ensure all of the Stripper has been removed. Any remaining Stripper could prevent adhesion when recoating.
COVERAGE
One gallon of Stripper will cover up to 75 square feet. Results may vary based on substrate texture and porosity.
DRY TIME
Allow the floor to dry for at least 24 hours (after rinsing) before applying coating, staining or sealing.
CLEAN-UP
Wash tools and equipment with soap and warm water. Properly dispose of all soiled rags and coating that has been removed.
