DESCRIPTION AND USES
Rust-Oleum Caliper Paint is a durable coating that allows you to customize your car or truck’s brake calipers, drums, rotors and springs. Caliper Paint is formulated to resist brake dust and high temperatures that can be produced from harsh braking conditions.
Note: Caliper Paint features an advanced spray system that allows you to spray at any angle, even upside down for those hard to reach areas. A comfort spray tip with wider finger pad reduces fatigue caused by continuous spraying.

SURFACE PREPARATION
Clean the brake calipers with an appropriate cleaner. Brake dust may contain asbestos. Remove all loose brake dust with a HEPA type vacuum and wear NIOSH approved respiratory protection. Wash area with a mild soap and water and then dry with a clean cloth. Lightly scuff the area with #320 grit sandpaper and wipe away all sanding dust. Remove loose paint and rust with a wire brush or sandpaper. Mask off the surrounding area prior to painting. Cover the brake bleeder screws, brake lines and caliper piston boots with masking tape. NOTE: Do not use compressed air to clean calipers as it could increase your risk to airborne asbestos.
APPLICATION CONDITIONS
Use outdoors or in a well ventilated area such as an open garage. Apply when temperature is between 50-90ºF (10-32ºC) and humidity is below 85% to ensure proper drying.
APPLICATION
Shake can vigorously for one minute after mixing ball begins to rattle. If the mixing ball fails to rattle DO NOT STRIKE. Contact Rust-Oleum. Shake often during use. Hold can 10-16" from surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the surface. Keep the can in motion while spraying. For best appearance, apply a few light coats 10 minutes apart. Apply all coats within 1 hour of cleaning the surface.
DRY & RECOAT
Dry & Recoat Times based on 70°F (21°C) – 50% relative humidity. Allow more time at cooler temperatures. Dries to the touch in 20 minutes, to handle in 1 hour. Wait 7 days for paint to fully cure. Apply a second coat within 1 hour or after 24 hours.
CLEAN-UP
Wipe off tip when finished. Clean up wet paint with Xylol or Mineral Spirits. Throw away empty can in trash pickup. Do not burn or place in home trash compactor.
CLOGGING
If valve clogs, twist and pull off spray tip and rinse it in a solvent such as Mineral Spirits. Do not stick a pin or other objects into the stem.
